Menu Magazine
This beloved family-owned grocery store was a pioneer when it began publishing its own menu magazine offering not only recipes using in-house branded products, but feature stories on local growers, as well as seasonal inspiration and table decor.
Early in my career I was lucky to work with a talented team on a number of feature spreads, conceiving the overall look and feel and designing layouts.

Menu Magazine, Holiday 2005 Issue
I was obsessed with jewel-toned brocaded fabrics at the time (still am) and wanted to bring that richness to the holiday page spreads. And to further embellish the layout, we added small gemstones. This issue won us an Addy Award.
Menu Magazine, Fall 2005 Issue
The fall issue honored the season with quick meals that were “hearty, not heavy”. I wanted convey warmth and comfort with a deep, rich color palette, leaf imprint, and a patina effect to add to the rustic, earthy quality.
Menu Magazine, Summer 2005 Issue
The Chesapeake feature introduced customers to the growers they partner with for the freshest, best quality shellfish in the region. These generational family-run businesses are steeped in the history of the Chesapeake, and I wanted to reflect that through duotone photography and a classic typeface in a coastal blue color.
